The UK High Commissioner Pledges Support to UoN Partnerships

The United Kingdom High Commissioner, His Excellency Ambassador Nic Hailey paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor, UoN, Prof. Peter Mbithi.

During the Wednesday, August 2, 2018 morning meeting at the VC’s Boardroom Sir Hailey expressed an interest in cementing and enhancing the partnership that the UK has with the University even in the wake of Brexit. "My government and my office is committed to facilitate access to any and all resources and scholarships that UoN needs as one of our partners,” He emphasized. 

In his welcoming remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi appreciated the long standing partnerships with the different Universities in UK. He mentioned the University of Nairobi’s growth and emphasis on research.

Prof. Mbithi noted the challenge the universities have globally of staying relevant with the changing job market and being able to keep abreast  while maintaining excellence.

 

The Different partnership agreements and ongoing research projects with the Universities of the United Kingdom were highlighted by the different UoN units and department heads represented.
