UoN Receives A Donation Worth 100M

At NOCK Industrial area, staff from UoN and Nock inspecting equipment

The University of Nairobi (UoN), Department of Geology, has received a donation of equipment and accessories worth 100 Million from National Oil Corporation Kenya (NOCK) for training.

A team of staff from UoN on Tuesday, July 6th, 2016 visited the National Oil Corporation of Kenya (NOCK) terminal in Industrial Area to assess the state of the equipment donated.

Speaking on behalf of the team, Prof. Jackson Mbuthia, Dean,School of Engineering thanked NOCK for their kind gesture and noted that the equipment and accessories will go a long way in supporting training programs at the University. 



Most of the items which were in disuse due to depreciation will be rehabilitated, modified and used for training in the departments of Geology, Chemistry, Engineering and Physics.

The team included Prof. John Onyari of Chemistry Department, Dr. Hussein Jama, Coordinator, Oil and Gas, School of Engineering, Johnson Kinyua, Director, Advancement, and John Orindi, Director, Corporate Affairs.
