Canadian High Commissioner pays a Courtesy Visit to the UoN Vice-Chancellor

Canadian Ambassador H.E. David Collins with DVC, Students Affairs Prof. Isaac Mbeche.The University of Nairobi students are set to gain from increased exchanges with their counterparts in Canada.  This was revealed by the Canadian High Commissioner to Kenya H.E. David Collins when he paid a courtesy call to the Vice-Chancellor on April 21, 2011.

He encouraged Kenyan Students to apply for graduate education in Canada, where there are also allowed to engage in part time jobs to decrease their tuition costs and also get opportunities to gain postgraduate  work experience of upto three years.  Canadian universities are also cheaper than their counterpart in the US and U.K.

 

The High Commissioner donated seven publications to the University of Nairobi, among them being Compass by Signal Editions, le caford by Sophie Voillet, Cats Night out by Cardine Statson, cultivating  Canada – Reconcilliation thought the lens of cultural diversity perceptic by paid paquet, Shake Hands With the Devil.  the Failure of Humanity in Rwanda by Romeo Dallative and Effleuris de lumiere by Danielle Fourview.

 

Prof. Isaac Mbeche, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, student Affairs received the book donation on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor and thanked the Canadian Embassy for their kind gesture.  Prof. Mbeche noted that Canada has strong collaboration links with University of Nairobi which includes the University of Manitoba that resulted in the construction and equipment of level three laboratories, joint researches, student exchanges among other joint activities.  Other links are with University of Colombia, Ghent University, and University of Western Ontario etc.
