Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences were crowned the overall winners of this year’s annual sports day.

The Faculty Women’s team won Athletics, Table Tennis and Volleyball while the men teams won athletics and badminton.

This particular sports day was marked with a huge turn- out from both staff and students from all the faculties and campuses. The theme for the day was, ‘Mental Health and Mental health awareness.’

Basketball, Volleyball, Netball, Hockey, Swimming, athletics, badminton, scrabble and football are among the games that formed the activities. Teams from staff and students went head to head in the different activities. Winning teams and outstanding players were given different awards.

Sports day had received sponsorship from different partner organizations among them,UONAA,CHUNA,UNES, Zoey, Karen Hospital, Zahara events, Primehood supplies, Infinix, Redbull, Kericho Gold, Itel and Morning harvest,

Chief Guest, Sports journalist Mike Okinyi commended the University for setting aside a day to play, to bond, and to mentor young minds through the various activities.

On his part, The Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs Prof. Julius Ogeng’o officially commissioned the day and urged the UoN community to engage in the different activities line up and emphasized the UoN value of care where the institution cares about the wholesome individual.
