Some key highlights are;
on Dec 4, 2023
- The need to re-engineer cities to accommodate women and women's issues so that they dont compete in the same spaces with men.
- Empirical data for evidence based planning to inform national and local governments management of cities.
- Women are mostly involved in climate mitigation while men are involved in adaptation, there's a need for integration of adaptation and mitigation.
- Women are responsible for care work even during disasters hence are unable to access healthcare and are disproportionately affected by Gender-based violence
- There's need to support locally led solutions to climate change
The event placed the UoN AWSC at the global front in adaptation to climate change championing women's inclusion in climate action.
