Earth and Climate change degree programmes
The Department of Earth and Climate Sciences in the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Nairobi is unique in that it actualizes the interdisciplinary and muldisciplinary aspects of Earth studies.
It provides avenues to link natural sciences with social sciences with intention of providing solutions to emerging issues, policies and practice. This encompasses sciences that relate to Planet Earth which include geoscience, atmospheric science, environmental science & governance, hydrology and oceanography, and climate change science. It therefore strongly intersects the natural and social sciences, and pays particular regard to the human relationship with, and stewardship of, the planet.
The programmes are delivered in four distinct but inter-connected Units, as follows: Geology, Meteorology, Climate Change Science & Adaptation, and Environmental Governance.
Earth and Climate Science graduates use their knowledge of how the Earth works in many different ways to help create a sustainable future for us all.

Regulations for the Bachelor of Science Degree in the University of Nairobi shall apply.
Candidates must have attained:
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with mean grade of C+ or equivalent, with passes in at leastthree subjects from either of the following;
(i) Minimum grades of C+ in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Geography or
(ii) Minimum grades of C+ in Mathematics, Biology, Geography and B- in Physical Sciences
(iv) Holders of KCSE mean grade of C- or equivalent plus a Certificate and Diploma in a relevant field from an institution recognized by the Senate.
(v) Ordinary/Higher National Diploma, or equivalent qualifications in the sciences with at least a pass.
(vi) Science/Technical Diploma from Teacher Training Colleges, or equivalent in sciences with at least a pass.
(vii) A science/technology degree from an institution recognized by the Senate, or equivalent qualifications
