The University of Nairobi (UoN) was crowned winner  at the recently concluded Commission of Universities Education (CUE) Biennial Conference 2024, claiming the coveted title for the best exhibition stand. Zetech University followed closely as the second-runner up.

Held at the KICC from June 12th to 14th, the Conference centered around the theme "Catalyzing Systemic Social Transformation Through Research and Innovation." UoN's stand stood out for its creativity, impactful innovations, and engaging presentations.

The Conference brought together 37 universities that engaged  through a vibrant atmosphere of research paper presentations, keynote speeches, and innovation exhibitions. The evaluation criteria for the stands focused on creativity, visitor engagement, space utilization, and the impact of showcased innovations.

UoN impressed attendees with its display of groundbreaking innovations. These included advancements in solar cooking and ironing technology, the "Wakaazi Works" project, and a fertilizer sprayer designed to empower farmers.

The Conference served as a valuable platform for universities to share best practices and address critical issues facing higher education in Kenya. A key takeaway highlighted the importance of regular university publications, prioritizing student well-being, employee satisfaction, and a commitment to quality across all aspects of university life.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama, expressed his gratitude to the UoN staff and students who significantly contributed to the Conference's success. He reiterated the importance of innovation, stating it as the cornerstone of the University's future.
