UoN ranked top 10 in Africa by uniRank
The University of Nairobi has been ranked position 9 in Africa and 946 in the world by uniRank. UoN emerged top in the Kenya and the region.
The 2021 African University Ranking by uniRank, analyzed 200 recognized higher-education institutions in the continent against a set criterion.
The uniRank selection criteria considers chartered, licensed and/or accredited by the appropriate higher education-related organization in each country, universities offering at least four-year undergraduate degrees (bachelor degrees) or postgraduate degrees (master or doctoral degrees) and institutions delivering courses predominantly in a traditional, face-to-face, non-distance education format.
UnirRank aim is to provide a non-academic League Table of the top Universities based on valid, unbiased and non-influenceable web metrics provided by independent web intelligence sources rather than data submitted by the universities themselves.
In the ranking, Massachusetts Institute of Technology emerged top globally followed by Harvard University and Stanford University.
In Africa, University of Cape Town is position one followed by University of Pretoria and University of the Witwatersrand.
