Varsity gears up for 69th Graduation Ceremony: A return to In-Person Celebrations

After a hiatus of three years marked by virtual and hybrid ceremonies, the University of Nairobi is all set to celebrate its 69th graduation ceremony in person. Graduands who have been eagerly anticipating their turn to don the cap and gown are in for a remarkable celebration. 

The 69th graduation ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday, September 22nd, 2023, at the famous Graduation Square, from 7:30 am. 

The Ceremony will be characterized by the solemn graduation processions, the donning of the cap for the PhD Graduands by the Chancellor, the name-reading of all the Masters and the Undergraduate graduands as is the culture of graduation ceremonies and a chance for the UoN classes to celebrate with their colleagues, friends and parents/guardians.

To participate in the graduation, a mandatory convocation fee of 1000 is required to be paid before filling out the application for graduation. For those attending the physically, a fee of Kshs. 2,500 and the rest is the cost to hire a graduation gown of Kshs. 4,000.  

The University of Nairobi is eagerly awaiting the return of this cherished tradition, as students, faculty, and families gather to celebrate the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. The in-person ceremony promises to be a memorable and emotional day for all, rekindling the sense of camaraderie and achievement that an online setting could never fully replicate.
