3 members of Teaching Staff fetted during the 4th National Council of Science & Technology Conference

Three members of Teaching Staff were awarded prizes for their researches during the 4th National Council of Science and Technology National Conference on Dissemination of Research Results and Exhibition of Innovations held from May 3-6, 2011 at the KICC Nairobi.  The prizes were under the theme “Science, Technology and Innovation as a platform for National Development.”

  • Prof. C.K.K. Gachene – 1st Prize, Department of LARMAT – CAVS in the sub-theme “Agriculture and Food Security” for his research entitled: “Effects of Vegetative Macro Contour line on small moisture conservation and crop performance in Kathekakai Settlement Scheme in Machakos District”.
  • Dr. L.U. Abubakar, 2nd Prize, Dept. of Biochemistry, CBPS in the sub-theme “Energy Water & Climate Change” for her research entitled: “Microalgae species biodiversity and abundance and their potential for Biofuel in Kenya”
  • Mr. I.W. Muasya, 3rd Prize, Department of Educational Foundations, CEES in the sub-theme “Energy, Water and Climate Change” for his research entitled: “The Impact of the new water policies and Institutions on water resource management and access to safe drinking water in Kenya”
