You do not need to be a language graduate; all you need is to be a holder of a Bachelors degree in any academic field and to be at least bi-lingual with English and one other language among: Kiswahili, French, Spanish and Arabic

Minimum Admission Requirements
 
  1. Bachelors Degree (from any academic discipline) with:
(Upper 2nd Class Division and above or equivalent, or Lower 2nd Class Division with at least 2years working experience) or equivalent, or a Pass  degree with 5 years working experience or equivalent.
  1.  Must be highly proficient in English and at least one relevant language from among: Kiswahili, French, Spanish, Arabic.
  1. Pre-qualified applicants must sit and pass an aptitude test before admission.
 
Mode of Study: Evening and Saturday Classes (part time module 2 programmes)
 
Fees Structure:-
• Tuition (16 units, including final semester project) per unit* Ksh. 13,500
• Examination fees per unit Ksh. 1,000
• Medical (per year) Kshs. 5,000
• Library (per Semester) Kshs. 3,000
• Activity (per year) Kshs. 2,000
• Computer (per year) Kshs. 5,000
• Registration (per Semester) Kshs. 1,000
• Students ID (per year) Kshs. 500
• Research (minimum) Kshs. 50,000
• Book Allowance per year Kshs. 40,000
• Caution (paid once; refundable) Kshs. 5,000

Application forms are available from the Board of Postgraduate Studies (BPS), or at Gandhi Wing, Room G3, at the Main Campus, University of Nairobi. Forms can also be downloaded from the University website (http://www.uonbi.ac.ke).
 
Completed application forms with certified copies of degree certificates must be returned to: The Director Board of Postgraduate Studies (BPS), University of Nairobi, and P.O. Box 30197-00100 Nairobi or to the Coordinator, Centre for Translation and Interpretation, 2nd Floor CCU Building, next to the University Graduation Grounds.
