THE UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI JOURNAL OF LANGUAGE AND LINGUISTICS EARNS INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION THROUGH DOAJ INCLUSION

The University of Nairobi is celebrating a significant milestone following the acceptance of one of its Journals for inclusion in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).

The University of Nairobi Journal of Language and Linguistics successfully met DOAJ’s rigorous best-practice requirements for inclusion in the internationally recognized directory of quality, peer-reviewed open-access journals. This achievement marks an important step in the University of Nairobi’s efforts to strengthen the quality, impact, visibility, accessibility and global discoverability of its scholarly publications. Inclusion in DOAJ enhances the journal’s international presence and makes its scholarly content more discoverable to researchers, academics, students and other global users.

The achievement is the result of collaborative efforts across the University, bringing together the leadership and commitment of the Journal’s Editorial Team, led by the Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Burugeya, and the support and expertise of the University of Nairobi Library Services, under the guidance of the office of the Deputy Vice Chancellors - Research, Innovation and Enterprise, and Academics Affairs.

 Other University journals are also at various stages of the process, with ongoing support from the University of Nairobi Library Services focused to strengthen their editorial policies, best publishing practices and compliance with international indexing requirements.

This milestone therefore reflects University’s growing commitment to excellence, openness and enhanced global visibility in research and scholarly communication.
