The University of Nairobi wishes to inform the following groups of students (Module I and Module II Integrated) that the resumption and commencement dates of the 2017/18/19 Academic Years are as follows:

A.             RESUMPTION DATES 

Monday, 8th  January  2018

All students who were in session prior to the Christmas break (except School of Education (Kikuyu Campus only), School of Law and School of Business)

                Monday, 15th  January 2018  :  Students from the School of Law and School of Business

                Monday, 22nd  January 2018  : Students from the School of Education (Kikuyu Campus)

                Monday, 12th   February  2018  : First years (KCSE 2015) in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences to commence Second Semester

B.             COMMENCEMENT DATES

Monday, 22nd   January 2018

- Yr  IV (KCSE 2013) students in the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences

- Yr III students from the School of Education

Monday, 5th   February  2018

Notice to all students: appointment of student commissioners

According to the new students’ governance structure, there shall be an Independent Electoral Commission comprising of seven (7) members; a Chairman, three members of staff and three students.
A student commissioner shall be appointed on application to Senate and must meet the following criteria as set out in the UNSA Constitution:
         i.           Must be a final year student of good academic standing,
         ii.           Fulfil the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
The University Senate has proposed that UNSA elections be held early in the year 2018. This is therefore to bring to your attention that interested students who wish to serve as commissioners to submit their applications through their respective Dean/Director of School/Faculty/Institute.
 
Applications should be delivered to the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor, (Student Affairs) by close of business on Friday, December 15, 2017.

58th Graduation Ceremony – Friday December 22, 2017

COLLEGE OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES AND COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES
 
The University of Nairobi wishes to inform all those students from the above Colleges who qualified for the award of various degrees and diplomas at the end of the 2016/2017 academic year and members of the public, that the 58th Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 commencing at 7.30 a.m. at the Chancellor’s Court next to Central Catering Unit, Main Campus.  The following is pertinent information:
 
CLEARANCE OF FEES AND CONFIRMATION OF NAMES
 
It is the duty and responsibility of each graduand to confirm his/her examination results and the accuracy and order of names from the respective Dean/Director.  Prospective graduands are informed that those who will not have met all the requirements for graduation including clearance of fees and other levies by December 1, 2017 will not be included in the graduation list.
 
Note:  Graduands are not expected to introduce new names other than those used during admission to the University.
 
GRADUATION/CONVOCATION FEE
 
Each graduand must obtain a clearance certificate from the relevant College Registrar upon clearance with the respective Department/Faculty/School/Institute/Centre, Library, Halls of Residence, Games Department  and Finance and pay a compulsory Graduation/Convocation fee of Kshs. 1,000/=.  PhD graduands should pay the convocation fees at their respective colleges.
